Burley & Woodhead C.E. Primary School

bwcepriOur school is a co-educational Church of England Primary School catering for children aged between 4 and 11 years old. The current building was purpose-built in 1976, replacing the old and much smaller premises at Burley Woodhead where the school had been since 1832. The building is of a modern, semi-open plan design providing a pleasant and effective working environment, and now includes an extended hall/dining area and a new library and I.C.T. suite. There are extensive grounds that include a playground, playing field, conservation area, pond and stream.

In Burley & Woodhead C.E. Primary School the staff, both teachers and support staff, are dedicated to providing all the children with a firm foundation on which their educational future will be built. Children learn in an atmosphere, which is both stimulating and exciting, and each individual can develop her or his full learning potential.

The school is essentially a ‘family’ school and enjoys full support from parents. Our school places great value on its close links with the church and the local community. We place particular importance on involving parents through recognising and valuing their continuing role in the education of their children. By listening to their concerns, we hope to promote an atmosphere of mutual respect and a shared role in helping each child to reach his/her full potential.

We develop appropriate codes of behaviour that support the values and aims of our school, ensuring that we can work together to provide the best possible education for all our children. You can visit the school website by following the link here

 Burley Oaks Primary School

oakstwoBurley Oaks Primary School was established in September 2000 as a result of the re-organisation of schools in the Bradford district. We were fortunate to inherit the premises of the former Burley Middle School.

As such our facilities include a specialist room for science and food technology, a specialist room for art and design technology and an l.C.T. suite. Thanks to the generosity of our School Association, we are currently establishing our school library.

We regard ourselves as a friendly and welcoming school, which encourages parents to take an active role in their children’s education. We are happy to see parents in school as visitors – even happier to see them as helpers! We are keen to build upon the positive relations with the local community established by the two schools which we have now replaced.
