St. Mary’s is the Anglican Parish Church for the village of Burley in Wharfedale. Welcome to our website. We normally have a variety of services and events which you can discover here on our website, however, given the current Government restrictions regarding Coronavirus and following the advice of the Church of England there will not be any services in Church and the building will be closed for the foreseeable future.
The building is shut, but the Church is thriving in all sorts of different ways. There is a new service for Trinity Sunday (Sunday 7 June) below. To see earlier services, scroll down and click the Videos link.
There are various acts of prayer and worship being led via our Facebook page, and plenty of children’s activities and ideas on our Children’s page. Please do keep checking on the website to keep up to date with what is going on during this challenging time, especially on This Week at St Mary’s.
7 June – Trinity Sunday
Vigil Against Racism: May we invite you to take part in the ‘AT HOME BLACKOUT VIGIL AGAINST RACISM’ on Sunday 9 June at 10pm, a village/local area vigil. Also please spread the details to as many folk as possible in whatever ways you think might reach them! Turn off your houselights, take a candle to your doorstep and pray or reflect. Or donate to an anti-racism charity eg theredcard.org or stophateuk.org or ukblm fund.
