Cuppa Cake and the Co-op

Cuppa Cake and Company, based at, and run by the Parish Centre, is a vitally important group which seeks to tackle the problem of social isolation in the village. Since Becky Berry founded the group back in 2015 it has attracted a wide range of local support. This year alone it has received grants from Burley Parish Council and from Ilkley Round Table, as well as support through anonymous donations. And now we have just had the great news that Cuppa Cake has been accepted for the Co-op’s Local Community Support Scheme which will largely affect the group’s 2019 funding. Under this scheme, if local Co-op members choose Cuppa Cake from the nominated local charities then 1
per cent of the total they spend on Co-op ‘own brand’ goods up to November 2019 is allocated to Cuppa Cake. NB: would-be supporters must be registered as Co-op members and use their card when purchasing goods. If you don’t want to commit the whole year to one charity you can change half-way through the year so you are supporting 2 local
charities. Full details are on the Co-op Membership website where you’ll find a full description of Cuppa Cake and Company, and where you can also make your choice.

Your support is important, so please help fund this valued community group as you do your shopping.
